2.4 Timber Project

Following the field trip with staff and students that included a visit to Copford Sawmill, Stefano Santilli conceived the timber project : 2.4, based on using the standard 2.4 meter length of timber as a parameter.   BRIDGE funds were used to purchase a 2.4 metre/ 50cm diameter, length of ash for students in the wood workshop The challenge of the project is to minimise the amount of waste in the production process as much as possible. The project has provoked considerable interest and activity amongst the students and the outcomes will be presented as part of the BRIDGE Circus event at Grand Parade in December
