Sustainability and Economics

Harry has been telling us about an article he read in the Harvard Business Review,  essentially the message was: That for a ‘sustainable’ proposition to be taken up, it needs to make economic sense. Pure idealism is very difficult to back. A shift how and what something is made of, needs to demonstrate (if possible with numbers) some sort of economic benefit, whether it be investment, secure resources or savings made through efficiency. Is sustainable another word for efficiency?
